Located on the site of the former steam locomotive depot in Chabówka, the Open-Air Museum of Rolling Stock is known for having the most numerous and one of the most interesting collections of exhibits related to the history of railways in Poland. Several tracks house an exhibition of decommissioned steam locomotives, electric and diesel locomotives, wagons, plows, cranes and other special rolling stock.
Facilities remained to operate the active steam locomotives that ran retro trains, supply them with coal and water, and clean the furnace. A permanent exhibition was opened on the ground floor of the administrative building, thanks to which all visitors can learn about the history of railways in the Chabówka region, with a special focus on the steam depot, which today serves as an open-air museum.
